There are currently 7 established red squirrel groups in Northern Ireland which would welcome enquiries from anyone who would like to help conserve red squirrels in
the province.

The Northern Ireland Squirrel Forum is an umbrella organisation chaired by the Northern Ireland Environment Agency that brings together all the statutory and non-statutory groups in Northern Ireland with an interest in conserving the red squirrel.

Mourne Heritage is an important part of Tollymore Red Squirrel Group. They have in operation a biodiversity action plan for the Mourne Area. One of the creatures included in that plan is the red squirrel.
